Watch the sea for my sweet princess ruby on the breeze a storm’s rolling in it’ll be here by dawn here by dawn Watch the skies she stopped time and travelling take a look she’s bluer since forever and all it took was something microscopic to clear the skies to see the dawn coming on Watch the ground silent numbers climbing deeper down unclaimed dead are lying in City parks well how much, how many does it take to shut it down? How many hungry die? How many feed the flies? How many in the ground before we shut it down? We were warned We were warned how many We were warned We were warned we didn’t Shut it down Shut it down we didn’t Shut it down Shut it down and start over Watch the sea the sky, the ground all crumbling underneath and everything we ever knew is gone a storm’s rolling on it’ll be here by dawn here by dawn

Why don’t you meet me On the corner of the main strip just by that coffee shop The one that closed about week ago We never tried it out Why don’t you meet me Outside mine Or I could meet you at yours Stay right beside my letterbox No knockin on my door Wave at me from a distance talk about how things aren’t looking good aren’t looking good Why don’t you meet me in the middle of the day, I’ll wave to you from a screen List down the books and movies that you love Got time to check em out Why don’t you meet me The middle of this bad dream I have almost every night Where I run and try to catch an early morning flight And I miss it every time Not as bad as what I’m seeing Empty streets sirens screaming People hoarding spitting getting mean Looking out for only them Lonely now no one to touch My friend you think you could interrupt The usual broadcast change it up Won’t you help me dream of something good Why don’t you meet me on the corner of Why don’t you meet me outside Why don’t you meet me in the middle now Why don’t you meet me in my dreams

Out of your hands Out of your control Easier now to pack it up and fold Hard this way Trying to stay warm with a Heart out and open to the cold Staying inside all day to watch Everything living thing outside me die Drinking every night to stop myself from crying How do we rebuild? How do move on? How do we give back a land that’s gone? Nothing I can say Nothing I can do How do you return the world to new? But a little bit of hope I read today A way to make lasting change Is healing what we can within our reach And some things worth remembering leaves have grown from burnt out trees A little bit of rain had fallen in the east Out of my hands Out of my control Stay inside and lock the door Or fight for life For the next And a tiny life to press against my chest Tomorrow we’ll be marching me and you The country will be marching too Your cousin had a baby girl they named her Drew I can’t wait to see my love To hear you struggle with the lock Decide it might be nice to sit outside Another little thing to hold to get me by

Goodnight ice Goodnight ice Break and join the water Don’t you fly Fall and glide Melt into the horizon I see you I see you And I hope to be seeing you soon Goodbye ice Sleep tight I’ll stay awake and sing all day and night for you I’m sorry we We let you go I’m sorry it took us so long I’m sorry now It’s still going on But I feel a wave coming I feel a wave I feel a wave I feel a wave coming I’m sorry for For what we’ve done For what we can’t undo I’m promise you We’re trying now And I feel a wave coming I feel a wave I feel a wave I feel a wave coming

Underground 05:53
High in the heat of summer you feel like shutting down I wouldn’t hold it against you no not now Is anything ‘round us growing? Is everything burning up? Already out of ideas and time and luck We could go Safe down low Underground My early morning findings Keep me awake ‘til noon I read and I read in the dark for some good news But all I can see is the weather I feel like giving up You wouldn’t hold it against me would you my love? When it’s colder down Sleeping sound Underground Safe down low So why not go? Maybe if they came running Saying they made a mistake We’d open our arms and tell them, “It’s okay” But all I can see is burning And all I can hear is denial There’s only so long we can dance around this fire Because people pay When money’s made Underground No more crying Stay still stay quiet Should be sleeping now But we can’t go We can’t go

about

My debut five-track EP that fuses folk, rock and pop, the work is threaded thematically with its sound evolving from song to song. It's a small snippet of 2020; the Black Summer Bushfires, the beginnings of the pandemic, and the anger, bewilderment despair and hope that came with it.
